The R.E.A.D.® Program
 
Wags for Hope is proud to be the first animal volunteer group to conduct R.E.A.D.® sessions in Frederick county and some parts of Montgomery county.  This is a wonderful program initially created by the folks at Intermountain Therapy Animals in Utah.  Pet teams volunteer their time and compassion to local schools, libraries and youth groups to help improve their literacy skills. Children are motivated to learn to read as the animal is non-judgmental and the activity becomes fun for them.
